Grinder

As a grinder in the shipbuilding industry or heavy construction, you will be responsible for preparing materials and components for further metal processing, welding using the MAG 135, 136 method, processing defects of various materials such as grinding, polishing, and sanding, as well as operating abrasive tools.

The function

• Grinding and cleaning elements at stationary workstations.
• Performing grinding tasks under supervision in spatial sections.
• Preparing surfaces for painting according to the "P3" standard of EN ISO 8501-3.
• Identifying surface inconsistencies that do not meet quality/acceptance standards.
• Optionally: Performing surface welding repairs.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in grinding steel structure/hull components;
• Familiarity with construction methods and (non-prestressed) installation of commonly encountered piping systems;
• Knowledge of welding methods such as electrode welding, TIG, etc;
• Possession of VVL and VCA certificates;
• English and/or Dutch.
